How many theatres in the German speaking area specialize in clowning?
Just one! The THEATER OLÉ in the Vienna’s third district.
That´s why we call it, tongue in cheek, VIENNA’S FIRST- BEST CLOWN THEATRE.
And now, to mark the occasion of our tenth anniversary, we are putting on a clown festival!
It will offer Austrian clowns a platform and allow them to get to know international artists. At the same time,
it will meet the growing interest of Viennese audiences in clowning as an art form.
Encouraging laughter. Taking a stand against ugly, small-minded beastliness.
Generosity and humour instead of envy and isolation. Recognizing human beings in their humanness – which means
also in their ridiculousness – instead of declaring them inhuman.
